ABSTRACT The study tested the relevant hypothesis, identified the strengths and weaknesses of respondents in relation to employee training and organizational performance, literature review and identified gaps there invaluable theory in the content of the study and generated new information. The examined the level of employee training in selected hotels in Kampala- Uganda. Determined the level of organizational performance in selected hotels in Kampala- Uganda and established if there is a relationship between employee training and organization performance. The research used a descriptive study design where primary data was collected from a population at one point in time. The study was carried out from Serena Hotel using a sample of 80 respondents that included the staff and management of lhe company. The study found out that the hotel highly embraces employee training and development as a way of improving their level of competency and motivation. This implies that employee training program is mainly based on equipping employees with the right skills to embark on tasks given to them. Due to effective training, the results showed lhal the level of employee performance is high and that explains why the company is one of the greatest hotels in Uganda. Based on the results of the study, it became clear that training and development strategy was a haphazardly carried out activity at Serena Hotel. Training and development have a significant relationship towards performance of employees and organization at large The business community should embrace employee training as a way of promoting effectiveness of their staff rncmbers and encouraging performance as employees be equipped with the necessary skills to carry out job tasks whether at the current and proceeding job placements. There should be more effort put on the semi and quarterly employee training sessions. This helps the ~upervisors to identify the performance gap earlier in order to save the meager resources the company has.
